Our Intention

Flow Child Yoga is the fusion of the research of Dr. Maxine Therese (Childosophy) and the yogic wisdom of Di Meade (Ebb and Flow Yoga).

Dr. Maxine Therese's Foundational Needs Model (body-mind-spirit needs according to Chakra theory) accounts for a way of understanding the many expressions of your inner child and the underlying unmet needs. A consequence of unmet needs is the many issues we witness with children’s wellbeing – issues and challenges which quickly get labelled (eg. ‘lazy, uninterested, difficult’). These are indicators of unmet needs.

Chakras are a map to a unified self, as governed by the seven energy centres in the human body. When the needs of each Chakra are cultivated and nurtured by the physical and human environment – it contributes to wellbeing.

Through the practices, poses and class format of Flow Child Yoga, we support your inner child to remain whole, which practically means we are helping you to remain in the flow of your feelings, thoughts and actions. When your inner child can remain whole, you do not experience extreme imbalance. The wellbeing of your Self then becomes part of what we are naturally cultivating always and the problems, issues and symptoms do not have to keep sending the message of imbalance.

With Flow Child Yoga you no longer have to doubt what you feel - as you come to know that your feelings are sending vital indications and much wisdom about what you need.
